Lincoln Construction Group Weighs in on Toronto Summer Construction Plan
Toronto, Canada, May 10, 2016 – Lincoln Construction Group (www.lincolngroup.ca), a company that manages all paving, concrete, and contracting needs, is weighing in on Toronto’s summer construction plans.
As summer nears, the city of Toronto has already announced 22 road closures due to massive construction plans. These streets are expected to be closed starting in June, with the plans extending to the end of the year. “Summer construction in Toronto is always a hectic time for everyone,” says Anthony Taylor, director of sales at Lincoln Paving Group. “It can be difficult on commuters, but in the end, the construction is meant to better the city, so hopefully residents can be patient.”
The city is planning to spend upwards of $550.0 million on construction projects this summer, according to Councillor Jaye Robinson, the current Chair of Public Works. According to Robinson, the money will be allocated to, “roads, sewers, and water mains,” noting that the light winter means fewer potholes need to be filled.
“These are all infrastructure upgrades,” Taylor explains. “The Councillor is right in saying that these things need to be done. Some things can wait, but there is roadwork that needs to be constantly maintained and summer in Toronto is really the only time these fixes are possible.”
In more promising news for commuters, Robinson says lanes in the Gardner will be open at the ending of July, which is ahead of the previous schedule of October.
“In addition, many construction companies, including Lincoln Construction Group, will also be busy this summer with their own construction projects,” Taylor concludes. “Summer is a busy season, with many projects already mapped out, so everyone is expected to be out there working hard.”
